ESI Design has been working with Beacon Capital Partners to transform the tenant and prospective tenant experiences at some of Beacon’s properties. For me, this involves profiling the current and future tenants, the neighborhood, and the building itself, working with the design team to create a new story for the property, and then concepting and scripting anything from dynamic multimedia screens to wayfinding (i.e. the signs you use to get around).
One of my favorite projects has been 745 Atlantic in Boston where were created a large-screen media installation that pulls from historic maps and contemporary data visualizations of what it means to live in Boston. A heat map of neighborhoods in which people tend to mention “bacon” in their Yelp reviews? It’s in there.
Here’s a blog post about another favorite, Columbia Center.
